3 Steps to Create a Simple Sales Funnel

If you run a business, you know how important social media is. But did you know that your email list is 20X more valuable? We're gonna show you how to start building you email list using an incredibly effective strategy called Lead Magnet List Building.

It may seem complicated or intimidating, but it's really one of the simplest and most effective ways to build a sales funnel & email list from scratch, and develop trust with your potential customers.

You can hire someone with experience to build it out, but if you're starting out and can't afford it, you can do it yourself. Here's how:

1. Create a Lead Magnet

A Lead Magnet is something of value (usually in the form of a workbook, blueprint, checklist or guide). Typically it's used as an incentive so that you can collect someone's email address/contact information. In exchange, you're giving them a ton of value for little or NO cost!

This is a creative and effective way to gain quality leads because usually people won't purchase something from you unless they trust you first.

So your lead magnet is a way to introduce yourself and what you have to offer...and to show people that you're worth the investment! The goal is to get people begging for your full offer!

Okay so now you've got a FREE GUIDE.

This guide is a MAGNET for leads. Right? (hence the reason it’s called Lead Magnet List Building).

These LEADS become an EMAIL LIST of people who are interested in your offer. Got it? Sweet!

Not just any list -- these are people who have taken a chance on you already. Meaning they are more likely to purchase other products/services from you.

Which is exactly the genius of this strategy...you can generating high quality leads by offering something of value for free. And in return, you get to share MORE value with these people, and some of them might purchase!

But WAIT we're getting ahead of ourselves.This strategy only works IF you have a solid process in place for collecting emails and delivering the lead magnet.

2. Send Audience to a Form

STOP posting your tips online! Instead, give them a reason to JOIN your email list.

From a simple post, story or reel, invite people to JOIN your email list to download your lead magnet. Let them know that by doing so, they'll learn XYZ.

The process of collecting emails and sending out your lead magnet would look something like this:
>> Send people to a landing page or form. This form needs to collect the person's name and email.
>> Once they submit the form, they can automatically be added to your NEW LEADS list on your CRM.
>> If it’s set up properly, you can then automate the first email to be sent to them with the lead magnet.

Once this process is set up, you rarely have to touch it!!

NOTE: At a bare minimum, you'll need a CRM/email software. Best strategies also use domain and web host. (I use Go High Level for all of these because it’s an all in one software, but there are tons to choose from).

NOTE: DO IT MANUALLY (FREE)

If you’re starting out and don’t have money to spend on a software, you can still collect leads yourself.

Post something like: “If you’re interested in my free guide, email me at HEY@EMAIL.COM and I’ll send it to you within the hour!”

You will need to manually send them your lead magnet as the requests come in.

Then, you’d want to create a spreadsheet and keep your the emails and names of people who are interested.

This is not ideal because it takes a lot of time, and time is $$. But it can be a good start if you are just starting out and have the time.

3. Nurture Your List

So what do you do with the list once you've gotten your golden leads? Sell yourself, sell your product and sell your brand.

So once we've gotten our list of golden leads, we have to keep them toasty warm (interested, invested, engaged) We do this through a nurturing sequence of emails.

Your nurture email sequence will look different from other brands, but it should be designed to give your leads an opportunity to purchase your product/service within a week or two after downloading your lead magnet.

This should be an automated sequence of emails starting with the lead magnet PDF.

The next 3-10 emails will be delivered daily. These could be questions for your audience, your brand story, testimonials and reviews, and finally your pitch!

People are most likely to purchase in the first 2 weeks of showing interest, so focus on these emails most, but you can continue to email these leads for 60-90 days + beyond.

For maximum impact, you may consider hiring a professional sales copywriter for at least your first 6 emails!
