The Fastest Way To Scale in 2023: Social Media Ads

March 01, 20236 min read

If you...

  • have an established business

  • are making more than $10,000 /month consistently

  • have the personnel and capacity to grow quickly...

Then this Marketing Strategy is for You!

The Fastest & Most Predictable Way to Scale:

Facebook & Instagram Ads

But First, A Cautionary Tale about Investing:

When husband started playing around with day trading (in his early 20's) he was a mess. There was little he could do to control his investment and was constantly checking his progress. He lost as much as he won, so it only lasted a few weeks.

Once we started looking into longer term investments for our money, we felt the weight of the risk but felt confident that the payoff would be much more sure. The process was more secure and manageable.

Ads are similar.

Sometimes when we start, it feels like a gamble. People put in and pull money at the drop of a hat. THIS is because you'lre looking at social media ads as a short term game.

I get it! As an established business, you do NOT want to risk their money and reputation on strategies that don't bring results.

However, the greatest results come through a commitment to long term strategy, best practices and consistency.

You can not put a thousands of dollars into social media for a few weeks and expect great returns.

YES this may work for some people. YES you MAY see results quickly.

But the vast majority of us will see greater success the longer we stick with it.

Ads work as a compound. The more people see your ads, the more visible you are, the more likely they are to act. This takes time.

The average person will not act on an ad before seeing it SEVERAL times.

This is GREAT NEWS! Because most businesses do NOT stick with it. So for those us who do - that's where the massive payouts happen.

THIS is how established businesses 'do it right' with a long-term Facebook and Instagram ad strategy:

  1. Launch, Optimize and Stabilize your campaign

  2. Determine Conversion Rates

  3. Predict Sales & Set Goals

  4. Set Ad Spend to Scale

  5. Repeat

This strategy has been proven to get businesses FAST and CONSISTENT results*.

Optimize & Stabilize

To become "stable", you first need to optimize your funnel (this takes a minimum of 3 months to do). This means you track every step in the funnel, and use industry and personal metrics, best practices and critical thinking to make improvements.

This is the most trying period, and it is often when most businesses pull out. But when you stick with it until ads are optimized, and the funnels is working as it should, that's when you start seeing the life-changing results.

Determine Conversion Rates

Once stabilized, you will have a good idea of the typical conversion rates for your ads, landing page, emails and funnel.

Predict Sales & Set Goals

Your conversion rates will help you predict sales.

For example, if your stable conversion rate for a lead is $3, and it takes 100 leads to get 1 sale, you need to spend $300 dollars.

Set Ad Spend to Scale

Scale. When you have a goal, you'll be able to know exactly how you need to scale in order to reach your goal.

Continuing the example above, if you want to get 5 sales each month at about $300/sale, that means you will need to spend about $1500 dollars.

What's the catch?

Since every funnel is different, these successes may look different to each client.

To put it frankly, there is a significant upfront investment when running ads, without seeing immediate returns. Yet, you could say this of most advertisement mediums (billboard, banners, booths, mailers, etc). Businesses spend tens of thousands of dollars on a campaign only to wait for results to come in months later.

With Social Media Ad Campaigns, there are similar periods of development and testing. The results are typically faster (3 months vs 10-12 months). People also need to see your offer multiple times (15-50 exposures) before they purchase, which can take some time.

All of this means that there are no guarantees of immediate returns on your investment.

I typically ask clients to plan for 3 months of spending money on ads before they start seeing returns. Some clients spend up to $10,000 before earnings begin to catch up, only to find that within 6-9 months, they have a 150, 200 or 400+% return on ad spend.

There are no guarantees of any returns on your investment.

In some rare cases, a social media ad campaign will yield little or no returns, even when using best practices and the latest strategies. There are so many reasons why this may be, but here are some potential reasons: The offer is new or unproven, business or offer does not have enough social proof, challenges connecting with target audience, issues with Facebook and Instagram Ad software, etc.

This can feel very scary. Believe me, I get it! I've BEEN THERE!

But business owners who can push past the few months may see their funnels will optimized, and sales will compound...making it FAR worth* the investment.

Some might even say the bigger risk is in NOT running ads...

Am I a good candidate?

I specialize in content creators and coaches. The questions below relate specifically to those types of businesses.

You're a good candidate for Facebook ads if:

  • You have good work ethic & are serious about growth

  • You are willing and able to invest for 3 consecutive months

  • You are able to implement feedback to your funnel, website, emails, social media, etc.

  • You have an offer worth $500-$3000+

You're NOT a good candidate for Facebook ads if:

  • You sell products or services that are banned or prohibited on Facebook or Instagram (for example, CBD products or MLM companies)

  • You do not have seed money for the initial ad management fees and ad spend for 2-3 months
